In order to make bridge the gap between the sensor instance in the model and the sensor instance in the users IoT provider there needs to be a common data point. This is the Device ID, this is the unique ID of the sensor, which is often printed on the actual physical device.

To publish a sensor:

**Step 1: Selecting a Sensor**

- **Model View:** The model view shows your building's floor plan. Each sensor that has been provisioned but not published is represented by an orange icon within this space.
- **Sensor Icons:** Orange icons denote the placement of sensors throughout the building.
- **Current Selection:** A blue icon highlights the sensor that is currently selected for editing.

**Step 2: Editing Sensor Details**

Once a sensor is selected the user can add and adjust information about the sensor.

- **Provisioning Item Panel:** On the right-hand side, the details of the selected sensor can be seen in the "Provisioning Item (Draft)" section.
- **Information Entry:** Here, you can enter or modify information about the sensor such as the sensor's name, device ID, function (like CO2), and the sensor's communication method (e.g., Ethernet) and power supply (e.g., PowerOverEthernet).
  - **Location**: This is the ID of the space that this physically placed in. For best results, this should be entered.
  - **Service connection**: Here you can add spaces that the sensor services without being placed in. An example could be a presence sensor that checks the occupation status of several adjoining rooms.
- **Adjusting the location of a sensor**: By selecting the arrow icon on the details card the sensor location can be adjusted. Set the new location by clicking the arrow icon again.
- **Deleting a sensor**: Click the Trashcan icon on the sensor detail card.

**Step 3: Saving the Configuration**

- **Applying Changes:** Once the necessary details have been entered or adjusted, click "Save" to apply these settings to the changed sensors.

> ℹ️ Once save is clicked the completed sensors will get the status published and be moved to the Published tab.

By following these steps, you can effectively manage and provision the IoT sensors within your building's 3D model, maintaining an organized and functional sensor network.

> ℹ️ Once a sensor is published you can no longer move it. In order to move a published sensor you need to delete the old one and create a new one.
