The Provisioning Template is a vital component in the setup of IoT sensors within your building's 3D model, allowing for a streamlined and consistent configuration process. Here's a guide on creating and utilizing these templates: Provisioning Templates are predefined configurations for specific types of sensors within your building. They serve as a blueprint for the settings and parameters that each sensor type should have, ensuring uniformity and ease of deployment throughout your facility. Creating provisioning templates Name This field is mandatory. Enter a unique name for your provisioning template for easy identification. Status Indicates the current stage of your provisioning template. Default status is set to "New" and can be updated as your device setup progresses. Function This defines the purpose of the IoT sensor you are provisioning. Choose from functions like "Acceleration," "CO2," "Distance," "Footfall," "Humidity," "Light," "Movement," "People Count," "PM," "Presence," "Pressure," "Sound," "Temperature," "TVOC," "Weight," which are indicative of the types of data the sensor will monitor. Communication Select how the IoT sensor will communicate its data. Available options are: LoRa : A long-range, low-power wireless platform often used for IoT sensors. Ethernet : For sensors that require a wired connection for data transmission. Mbus (Meter-Bus) : Utilized for devices like utility meters that communicate consumption data. Wi-Fi : For sensors that will connect and transmit data over wireless networks. Power Supply Choose the IoT device’s power source from the available options. PowerOverEthernet (PoE) : Enables electrical power along with data on Ethernet cabling. This can simplify installation by reducing the number of wires that must be run to the device. 230V : For devices that require a standard voltage power supply, typical in residential and commercial buildings. Ensure that any sensor connected to this supply adheres to safety regulations. 24V : A common low-voltage supply for many types of sensors, offering a safer alternative to 230V and is less susceptible to voltage drop over long distances. Battery : Ideal for wireless sensors in locations where power cabling is not available. Battery life can vary based on sensor type and reporting frequency. USB-C : A modern, versatile option for powering devices, USB-C can carry more power compared to older USB standards and can also deliver data. After filling in the details CANCEL : If you decide not to save the new template or wish to discard the changes, click this button. It will navigate you back to the previous page, and no new template will be saved. SAVE : Click this after you've filled in all the required details to save the new provisioning template. It will be stored and available for use with IoT devices. You need to add a Provisioning template for each specific type of sensor used in your building Double-check all the entered information to ensure the IoT devices are set up with the correct configurations for seamless operation and data integration.
