The main goal of the project portfolio is to provide a comprehensive overview of all projects within the organization or a particular type of project. The portfolio indicates the current phase of each project and highlights any projects signaling deviations. Accessing the Tool The "Project Portfolio" tool is located in the ribbon area when you are on the main page of the project network. Filtering within the Project Portfolio You can narrow down projects within the portfolio using various criteria sourced from the settings of each project. Here are the available filters: Project Type:  (Refer to the section on project types) Project Manager:  A project can have multiple administrators, but only one registered project manager in the system. Organizational Affiliation:  The company running the project. Main Project:  Projects that consist of one or more sub-projects. Estimated End Date:  A date range for the project's conclusion. In addition, users have the option to only display projects with one or more red deviations, indicating a high risk of deviation. Filtering in the project portfolio is executed in an indexed database, meaning data from the system is stored in a more accessible and faster structure. This method ensures rapid filtering. The indexing takes place when the portfolio is accessed for the first time each day. If the project network has numerous projects, opening the portfolio might take slightly longer during this instance. Search Results in the Project Portfolio Once a new search is conducted, the list in the portfolio updates. The symbol on the left of the list indicates if the project is linked to a parent main project. Hovering over the symbol displays the main project's name. The project name acts as a link. Clicking on this link directs you to the project card of that specific project. Additional details include the project manager, project number, planned end date, and the affiliated organization. If a budget for the project has been recorded, it is also displayed in the "Budget" column. The portfolio also provides a summary from the project cards. Project deviations are shown with colored symbols (refer to the deviations section for their meaning). Project progression, as logged in the checkpoints tab or project process, is indicated by highlighting completed phases. Lastly, on the far right of the portfolio, you'll find the date when the project manager last updated the project deviation information. By leveraging the Project Portfolio tool, stakeholders can gain insightful and up-to-date information, fostering effective decision-making and project management. In this article:
