In Projektstruktur, a check-in/check-out system is implemented to manage various versions of documents and their associated metadata. This system ensures that each version is tracked, and its modifications are recorded correctly. Using Check-in/Check-out Checking Out When you want to edit a document or its metadata, check it out. This action locks the file, preventing any other modifications. Checking In After making the necessary edits, check the document back in. This creates a new version reflecting the changes. Key Points Ignoring Check-out If you decide to ignore the check-out and not check the document back in, any changes made while it was checked out will be lost. The document reverts to its state at the last check-in. Locked Documents A document checked out by a user is locked for others. They can't check it out until the initial user checks it in. However, they can download a copy of the last checked-in version. Restoring a Version It's possible to revert a document to a previous version. When done, a new version is created, mirroring the state of the selected past version. This restoration can be done from the version history.
