Welcome to the Measurements Tab guide for the Twinfinity Viewer. Precision and accuracy are paramount when working with BIM models, and this tab is equipped with four essential tools to assist you in obtaining exact measurements. Here’s how each tool works: Area Measurement Tool Purpose : This tool is designed to calculate the area of a specified section. Usage : Simply click on the area tool button and and then click in the model where you want to measure. A square is now created with handles that will allow you to adjust the shape of the area to your exact needs. Tip : Clicking the handle between two handles on the area surcumference will add another handle that allows you to modify the area to your exact need. It's especially useful for assessing the size of rooms, surfaces, or any 2D space within your model. Laser Measurement Tool Purpose : To measure the distance perpendicularly from one surface to another. Usage : Click on the laser tool button then hover with the mouse pointer over a surface. A red laser line will show the currently found possible measurement. Click to place the measurement. The measurement will be displayed as the perpendicular distance between the two surfaces the red line touched. Tip : This is particularly handy for understanding clearances, evaluating space between parallel surfaces, or determining depths. Distance Tool Purpose : Used for determining the straight-line distance between two specified points. Usage : Click on the first point, then click on the second. The viewer will show the distance between the two points. Tip : Useful for getting dimensions of structural components, distances between fixtures, or spacing considerations. Polyline Tool Purpose : Allows for a multi-point measurement, where a path can be created and measured. Usage : Start by clicking the initial point. Continue adding points to form your desired path. Once completed, the tool will calculate the total length of the path. Tip : To stop measuring, press the “Stop measuring button” In this article:
