In Projektstruktur, each project participant is assigned a profile within their respective project. These profiles are linked to various sets of permissions, which may include read and write access, as well as approval rights. It's possible for multiple members of a project to be associated with the same profile. The specific profile and permissions assigned to an individual depend on the needs of the project and the settings configured by the Project Administrator.

### Types of Permissions

1. **Read Access**:
  - This permission allows a user to open and view a document but does not permit any modifications to be made to the document.
2. **Write Access**:
  - With this permission, a user can not only read but also edit documents. Write access also includes the ability to add new documents and delete existing ones.
3. **Approval Rights**:
  - This grants the ability to officially approve documents within the system. A document may require more than one step of approval, and the right to approve is typically associated with a specific step in the process.

### Permission Settings

- Permissions are set on a per-folder basis. This means that a user might have the ability to read and edit all documents in one folder, but not in another.
- It's important to note that users can be assigned multiple profiles. In such cases, they receive cumulative access to all folders included in these profiles, according to the highest level of permissions granted by the profiles.

### Example Scenario

- If Profile1 grants read access to FolderA and Profile2 grants write access to the same folder, being assigned both profiles would result in having write access to FolderA. This is because the system consolidates permissions, providing the user with the highest level of access available from their combined profiles.

Remember, it's crucial for the Project Administrator to carefully assign and manage profiles and permissions to ensure that project participants have the appropriate level of access required for their role and responsibilities within the project.
